Herstmonceux Castle is truly one of the jewels of East Sussex. This stunning 15th-century moated castle sits within 550 acres of magnificent parkland, ancient woodlands, and award-winning gardens. It’s the kind of venue that makes a day out special, somewhere you’ll want to linger, explore, and soak up the atmosphere.
The castle’s beautiful Elizabethan-style gardens, sweeping lawns, and woodland walks create a magical setting for a garden show. You’ll be able to browse our wonderful exhibitors while enjoying the castle’s spectacular grounds (with a combined ticket), making it a proper day out in one of Sussex’s most beautiful locations.
The venue offers excellent facilities including plenty of parking, good accessibility, refreshment areas, and spaces to rest and enjoy the surroundings.

Herstmonceux Castle is rich in history dating back to the 15th Century, commissioned by Sir Roger Fiennes, Treasurer to the Household of Henry VI. The moated castle was purchased and then gifted to Queen’s University, Canada by industrialist and philanthropist Alfred Bader and his wife Isabel.
CASTLE TOURS
The Castle will be open for guided tours on the days of our show.
Guided tours have limited spaces, and should be booked on the day upon arrival at the show.
